About Me

img_0993On October 14, 2016, I was diagnosed with Stage IIa breast cancer.  In late August, I felt a lump and went to my doctor to see what she thought.  I was hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.  As a 45-year-old wife and mother of a 7-year-old, I had to stay positive.  After mammograms, biopsy, ultrasound, it was what I dreaded…breast cancer.

I have been an educator for over 20 years, active in my community, started a Non-Profit and Team Mom for EVERY team my husband coaches and son plays on.  I like to work out with my family and just got back into running, love to read, dance, bike ride, and roller skate!  So what now?  I will continue my love for the outdoors, make my family stronger through struggles and live the life that God intends me to live. I will not just add years to my life but more importantly, add LIFE to my years!!!

This blog is dedicated to one of my best friends who was diagnosed with breast CANcer in 2004 and lost her battle July 28, 2008.  She was a fighter until the end and maintained a positive spirit.  Rest in Heave Kelly Golliday January 28, 1971 – July 28, 2008.
